Latest music discovery: Highasakite

Last weekend, as a birthday gift, Daan took me the Nordic Delight Norwegian Night in Ekko, this small popmusic venue in Utrecht. We didn't know what to expect, but the (Norwegian, of course) music programme was in one word f a n t a s t i c ! ! ! It started with Jonas Alaska, a singer-songwriter with touching pop/folk/Americana songs, and ended with the energetic blues-rock band Atlanter (of which bass player Morten Kvam definitely stole the show with his 'uncool' appearance but more-than-cool look and moves!!!). Highlight I guess though was the band Highasakite, that mixed 'delicate and sparkling dream pop with electro and African rhythms and exciting art-pop'. That sound!! That voice!! Their debut album Silent Treatment came out last year and has been on repeat ever since at our home (ok, together with Atlanter's album 'Vidde').
